Stern Center welcomes Carol Ode to its Board of Directors

The Stern Center for Language and Learning announced today that Carol Ode will join its Board of Directors in September. Carol is serving her first term in the Vermont Legislature as State Representative of Chittenden 6-1, comprising Burlington’s far New North End. She has been active in politics for more than thirty years, fundraising and advising local and statewide political leaders and candidates on educational issues. She is a graduate of Emerge Vermont.

Colchester police chief receives 1st annual 'Hero of the Year' award

Colchester Police Chief Jennifer Morrison was awarded the Hero of the Year Award by Heroes Home Advantage Partners of Chittenden County. The award celebrates her distinguished career in Law Enforcement and her accomplishments over the past five years as Chief of the Colchester PD. Chief Morrison began her career at 22, just out of college, with the Burlington Police Department and worked her way through the ranks to that of Deputy Chief.

Nexstar Broadcasting names von Lichtenberg VP and GM of Burlington, Vermont broadcast and digital operations

Nexstar Media Group, Inc (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Alexander von Lichtenberg has been named Vice President and General Manager of FOX affiliate WFFF-TV and associated mobile / digital services, including MyChamplainValley.com, serving Burlington, VT-Plattsburgh, NY (DMA #97). In his new role, he will also oversee Nexstar’s relationship with WVNY-TV, the market’s ABC affiliate owned by Mission Broadcasting, Inc, under a joint operating agreement.

Cantz named president and CEO of Goodwill Northern New England

The board of directors of Goodwill Northern New England has announced that Rich Cantz has been named president and CEO of the organization. Cantz was promoted from senior vice president of strategic development and public policy. Since 2012, Cantz has led Goodwill’s workforce, cleaning and healthcare segments – managing intentional growth that aligns with the five year strategic plan, with the goal of increasing stability for program participants, employees and their families. He has been with Goodwill NNE since 2003.
