MAHHC announces Perry as Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance
Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, (MAHHC) has named Otelah Perry, MS, MT, MB, CMQOE as its new Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance. The position, created in 2016, is part of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team, with Perry reporting to Dr Joseph Perras, President, CEO, and Chief Medical Officer. As Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance, Perry is responsible for the administration of quality and patient safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
Evelyn Rivera leads 10th annual NEFCU Turkey Drive
For the tenth year in a row, New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) loan officer Evelyn Rivera led the credit union’s annual Turkey Drive. A total of 100 turkeys were delivered to the Williston Community Food Shelf (WCFS), along with $1500, thirty-five $15 gift cards from Hannaford’s Supermarket, and a check for $400 to help with other needs. Jason Pidgeon and the credit union’s mortgage origination staff assisted in the effort. Arnie Laberge graciously provided freezer storage.

Girls on the Run Vermont adds two new board members
Girls on the Run Vermont is pleased to announce the addition of two new board members: Melissa Paradee of Rutland, and Tiffany Keune of Rutland. Girls on the Run Vermont is a statewide organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a research-based curriculum that addresses developmentally appropriate life skills and creatively integrates running, stretching, and strengthening exercises.
Mt Ascutney Hospital names Hakala as October 2018 Employee of the Month
Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced the selection of Robin Hakala, BS, MSN, RN, as Employee of the Month for October, 2018. Hakala is an Educator in the MAHHC Department of Education. Hakala is responsible for administering orientation for new staff, as well as participating in staff competency days that provide clinical education to nursing staff, implementation of the Hospital’s Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) system to maintain CPR skills, and classes presented by the Education Department.
