HCRS recognizes two community partners Robin Rieske and Windham & Windsor Housing Trust

Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS), southeastern Vermont’s community mental-health agency, is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2018 Jim Bartley Community Partnership Awards. The awards were presented at the agency’s annual meeting on November 7 to the Windham & Windsor Housing Trust and to Robin Rieske, Prevention Consultant for Vermont’s Alcohol & Drug Abuse Programs in the Brattleboro District.

Stern Center for Language & Learning grows SLP staff

The Stern Center for Language and Learning added two speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to its Social Learning and Communication Services staff. Jessica Jablonski, MS, CCC-SLP, and Kendra McKim, MSLP, CCC-SLP, provide speech and language services addressing a wide range of needs, including social cognition, articulation, language, fluency, and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).

Breault joins Davis and Hodgdon Associates CPAs

Jin Breault has joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as an Associate Accountant. Jin graduated from Johnson State College summa cum laude, where she earned a Certificate of Proficiency in Accounting, and from Plymouth State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.

Jin’s prior experience in the financial industry includes bookkeeping and payroll for retail businesses in South Burlington, Vermont and the Greater Boston area. Jin also has several years’ experience of delivering highly personalized customer service tailored to specific clientele.

Leach named Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science

Steven D Leach, MD, director of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Preston T and Virginia R Kelsey Distinguished Chair in Cancer at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Election as an AAAS Fellow is an honor bestowed upon AAAS members by their peers.

SVMC ExpressCare practice in Bennington welcomes Family Nurse Practitioner Crawford

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s (SVMC) ExpressCare in Bennington is pleased to welcome Family Nurse Practitioner Tracie Crawford. With this appointment, Crawford also joins the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group.

Crawford earned her master’s degree in Nursing from Maryville University in Missouri. She received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Vermont in 2010 and both her practical nursing certificate and associate’s degree in Nursing from Vermont Technical College. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Susan Evans McClure joins LCMM as Executive Director

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (LCMM) is pleased to announce Susan Evans McClure is to become its new Executive Director in early 2019. "I am very much looking forward to my new role as Executive Director of LCMM. This opportunity allows me to bring together my experiences in museum education and administration, my passion for Lake Champlain’s history, and my belief that learning about our past can inspire people to have an impact on their world today."

Vermont business group to honor Waterbury State Representative

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) will honor Rep Tom Stevens, D-Waterbury, at a legislative breakfast next week for his work to raise the state’s minimum wage and establish a paid family leave system in Vermont. VBSR is a business association with close to 700 members who advocate for policies which support workers, our communities and the environment.

Vermont camp for children and adults with special needs announces new board members

Camp Thorpe (www.campthorpe.org), now in its 92nd season of providing safe, educational and fun summer camp experiences for children and adults with special needs from throughout Vermont, has welcomed three new members to its Board of Trustees. The three are Roni Coleman of Calais, Melody Frank of Waterbury Center, and Pamela Crino of Bethel.
