Girls on the Run Vermont is pleased to announce the addition of two new board members: Melissa Paradee of Rutland, and Tiffany Keune of Rutland. Girls on the Run Vermont is a statewide organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a research-based curriculum that addresses developmentally appropriate life skills and creatively integrates running, stretching, and strengthening exercises.
“As we enter our twentieth season of bringing Girls on the Run to Vermont’s girls and continue to grow our programming to reach more communities, we are grateful to have Melissa and Tiffany’s expertise in the Rutland region,” says Nancy Heydinger, Executive Director/Founder of Girls on the Run Vermont.
Melissa Paradee, a Rutland native, is the Vice President of Student Affairs at the College of St. Joseph. She also teaches part-time at Castleton University in the Psychology Department and holds teaching licensure in Vermont in elementary education and special education. Melissa has served her community by volunteering for several organizations including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont, Meals on Wheels, and the Mentor Connector. Melissa has a passion for fitness and enjoys instructing and attending group fitness classes at The Gymnasium in Rutland.
Tiffany Keune is the Associate Dean of Workforce Education at the Community College of Vermont (CCV). A strong community member, Tiffany has served on the Executive Board of Vermont Women in Higher Education, has been a member of the Vermont Public Radio Community Forum Steering Committee, and the Creative Economy Steering Committee. Tiffany has been a longtime Coach and volunteer for Girls on the Run Vermont. Tiffany resides in Rutland.
Girls on the Run Vermont is an independent and 501(c)(3) recognized council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 220 councils across the United States. For twenty years, Girls on the Run Vermont has empowered over 45,000 Vermont girls’ grades 3-8 to develop physical, emotional and social well-being through a 10-week after school program held at over 160 sites statewide and encouraged by more than 800 volunteer coaches.
