Wolfe named Employee of the Month for January, 2019 at MAHHC

Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced that Sheila Wolfe, Patient Access Representative/Registrar, has been selected as January, 2019 Employee of the Month. The monthly award recognizes employees who have demonstrated sustained service excellence in their respective departments and have displayed compassion, a caring approach, and continuous hard work within their community.

Vermont's top youth volunteers of 2019 selected by national program

Sophia Thomas,18 and Peter Forgione, 14, both of South Burlington, today were named Vermont's top two youth volunteers of 2019 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. As State Honorees, Sophia and Peter each will receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion and an all-expense-paid trip in early May to Washington, D.C., where they will join the top two honorees from each of the other states and the District of Columbia for four days of national recognition events.

Mack appoints Quality Manager focused on Medical & Regulatory Compliance

Mack Molding, a leading custom plastics molder and supplier of contract manufacturing services, announced today Tory Peeler has joined the Company as Quality Manager, Medical and Regulatory Compliance. Within this role, Peeler will report to Director of Quality Wanda Knowles and be responsible for quality and regulatory matters related to all medical programs, including electromechanical equipment and disposable devices.

ValleyNet announces leadership change

ValleyNet announced today that it has chosen a successor to Carole Monroe, who announced her intention to retire in late 2018. “It has been my pleasure to bring ECFiber from the startup stage with several hundred customers to where we are today with over 3,000.” Carole will continue to assist ValleyNet in a consulting role. David Rottmayer has over 30 years of telecom experience (including fiber-to-the-home startups) and will start work in February. “I’m very excited to help ValleyNet and ECFiber expand the availability of fiber-to-the-home service in the region.”

United Way leader Bernardi joins UVM Health Network Board

John Bernardi of Saranac, New York has joined the University of Vermont Health Network Board of Trustees. He is currently CEO of United Way of the Adirondack Region and has more than 30 years of experience in human services and non-profit management. He is also chair of the Board of Directors at the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
