Norwich Unitarian Universalist Congregation installs new minister

Almost exactly one year after Rev. Jan Hutslar first visited the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Upper Valley (UUCUV) in Norwich, she was officially installed in a ritual ceremony at the house of worship on Sunday, May 19. Hutslar, who was raised in southern Indiana and is a graduate of Ball State University, has been preaching at UUCUV since last fall; she was called by the congregation as its newest settled minister when she first visited the Upper Valley in May 2018.

USAO recognizes exceptional law enforcement work at its annual Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony

On May 15, 2019, the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont (USAO) honored a number of individuals from a variety of law enforcement agencies at the USAO’s second annual Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony. This ceremony was held at the federal building in Burlington, Vermont. Individual investigators and officers were nominated by USAO staff in a variety of categories for their outstanding work supporting the mission of this office. Award recipients came from federal, state and local agencies from across Vermont.

Horvat joins VHB's South Burlington office as a Landscape Designer

VHB is pleased to announce that Jessey Horvat has joined VHB's South Burlington, Vermont office as a Landscape Designer. With close to five years of design experience, Jessey joins VHB's Land Planning and Landscape Architecture team supporting public and private clients in community design, real estate, institutional, transportation, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.

Alger joins VHB as Environmental Scientist/Pollinator Specialist

Samantha Alger, PhD, joins VHB's Natural Sciences team in South Burlington, Vermont, as an Environmental Scientist/Pollinator Specialist. She brings a decade of experience in applied ecological science, incorporating research, education, and outreach to improve the health of managed and wild bees. From spearheading Vermont's involvement with the National Honey Bee Survey, to studying how viruses spread between bee species, to running a small apiary from her home, Samantha is passionate about all things pollinator.
