JEFNE 2019 scholarship recipients announced

The Journalism Education Foundation of New England, a division of the New England Newspaper & Press Association, has announced the recipients of their 2019 scholarships. This year, $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to four collegiate students and one high school student. The Vermont winners are Alexandre Silberman of Burlington and Sarah Asch of Middlebury.

The Journalism Education Foundation of New England encourages and supports high school seniors and college students in the six-state region who aspire to pursue a career in journalism.

McKenny appointed new director of Robert Frost Stone House Museum at Bennington College

The Robert Frost Stone House Museum, which recently reopened for its second season under Bennington College’s stewardship, has appointed Erin McKenny as its new director. McKenny will assume the directorship beginning July 1, 2019, as current director Megan Mayhew-Bergman transitions into an advisory role at the museum.

CVHHH welcomes McDonald

Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) welcomes Pat McDonald, of Berlin, as Honorary Chair of its annual spring appeal. This is one of two solicitations that are sent out every year. As a not-for-profit, CVHHH is driven by a mission to care for every person who needs it, regardless of ability to pay. This means that CVHHH must rely on fundraising and support from the community, and beyond, to continue to provide critical health and supportive care services to all central Vermonters.

Munzing and Windham Grows recognized by VBSR

Windham Grows, a project of Strolling of the Heifers, Inc., is the recipient of the Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) Innovation and Inspiration Award. Orly Munzing, founder of Strolling of the Heifers, will accept the award at the 18th Annual VBSR Awards Ceremony and Dinner in September. Munzing developed the pioneering Windham Grows Food and Agriculture Business Accelerator.

Chamber launches new Okemo Valley Magazine

The Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce (OVRCC) recently announced the launch of a new full-color lifestyle magazine to reach the destination travel and aspirational living market. According to Carol Lighthall, director of the Chamber, “the new Okemo Valley Magazine will be a free biannual lifestyle publication for visitors, residents and chamber members that will showcase the beauty, individual personality and community spirit of the 12 towns and villages that make up the Okemo Valley.
