Health care advocacy: acupuncture for veterans and military
Licensed Acupuncturists, Jonathan Fleming and Kerry Boyle from Integrative Acupuncture in Montpelier attended a legislative advocacy event in Washington D.C., June 1-3 to gain support to mandate acupuncture access for all veterans and military personnel. Over 300 acupuncturists from across the country descended on Capitol Hill to ask their state representatives to support HR 1182- Acupuncture For Heros Act, which mandates veterans and military can access this non pharmacological approach to pain management.

2019 Emerging Leaders of Southern Vermont recognized at summit
23 Southern Vermont Emerging Leaders were recognized at the 3rd Annual Southern Vermont Economy Summit on May 23rd. Southern Vermont Young Professionals and the Shires Young Professionals co-hosted the third annual recognition event which celebrates young people from the Bennington and Windham regions. Individuals were nominated based on their work as community leaders and volunteers, and for their professional accomplishments and commitment to serving the region.
Patterson joins Shelburne Farms as Executive Chef
Shelburne Farms is pleased to announce that John Patterson, former Executive Chef at Fork, in Philadelphia, PA has joined the Farm as its new Executive Chef. In this position, he will be responsible for managing Shelburne Farms’ farm-to-table restaurant at the Inn. Jim McCarthy, now Executive Chef Emeritus, will continue on during this transition season.
