The Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce (OVRCC) recently announced the launch of a new full-color lifestyle magazine to reach the destination travel and aspirational living market. According to Carol Lighthall, director of the Chamber, “the new Okemo Valley Magazine will be a free biannual lifestyle publication for visitors, residents and chamber members that will showcase the beauty, individual personality and community spirit of the 12 towns and villages that make up the Okemo Valley. Okemo Mountain for years published the semi-annual Okemo Magazine, but when Vail Resorts, the new owners, offered the chamber the opportunity to take over the publication, we were thrilled. This is a terrific opportunity for us to create a new publication that will showcase all of the Okemo Valley’s 12 towns and villages.”
Okemo Valley Magazine will promote tourism and business through engaging storytelling, beautiful photography and clean design. It will showcase the leading tourist attractions, special events, people, places and products of the Okemo Valley. Each issue will feature uplifting content and good news about the Valley’s people, communities and lifestyle with valuable consumer reporting on the Okemo Valley experience. Okemo Valley Magazine will showcase the diversity of offerings in the region for locals as well as welcoming visitors of all ages.
The leadership of the magazine will include:
- Lynn Barrett publisher of Southern Vermont Arts & Living Magazine & President of Primetime Concepts in Dummerston, VT, who will serve as Editor.
- Paul Stephenson of Harvest Moon Design in Woodstock/Barnard will provide graphic design services & photography as he had worked on Okemo Magazine for the last 5 years.
- Duane Kish formerly of Okemo Mountain Resort will provide advertising sales as he did previously for Okemo Magazine.
- Carol Lighthall Executive Director of the Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce will oversee the publication.
Okemo Valley Magazine will be printed semi-annually with Winter/Spring and Summer/Fall editions. The publication will also be available digitally on the chamber’s website. Chamber members will soon be contacted about participating in the new magazine as advertisers (at a discounted rate) or also in contributing story ideas. The deadline to reserve a spot to advertise in this first edition is August 2019. The first issue will be published in October of this year. Non-members are also welcomed to advertise.
This publication will be distributed locally to chamber businesses, to visitors at various area venues and throughout New England. A subscription service will also be offered to out-of-state visitors who wish to receive Okemo Valley Magazine back home.
