MacKay and Degree appointed to Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund board

The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) announces the appointment of Noelle MacKay of Shelburne and Dustin Degree of St. Albans to its Board of Directors. VSJF is a nonprofit organization focused on sustainable economic development in the agriculture and food system, forest product, waste management, renewable energy and environmental technology sectors.

Gifford welcomes Fossman to Behavioral Health

Nurse Practitioner Penny Fossman has joined the Behavioral Health team at Gifford, providing therapy and medication management services at Gifford Medical Center.

Fossman brings to her role several years of experience in health care, most recently as a registered nurse and volunteer emergency medical technician (EMT) in her native Alaska. She also recently completed a number of clinical practicums in mental health during which she worked with clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Alaska and Washington state.

VWW announces executive director search

It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors announces Jen Oldham’s departure as Executive Director of Vermont Works for Women (VWW), at the end of 2019. For the past two years, Jen has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization, and we will miss her and her inspiring leadership. Thanks to her dedication and accomplishments, VWW is on solid ground for the future.

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt leaves enduring legacy for Goodwill’s employees

Goodwill Northern New England exceeded its $350,000 fundraising goal for its new Roosevelt Fund For Employee Stability. Revenue from the fund will offer relief and support for the nonprofit’s employees for years to come.

The Roosevelt Fund will offer various resources to employees who need some help sorting out life’s challenges. This supplements in-person supports for employees. This type of funding is already available to participants in some of Goodwill’s Job Connection programs, but hadn’t been available to employees until now.

38th annual Prouty announces honorary co-chairs - renowned pathologist and co-founder of Row The Prouty tapped to serve

The Prouty – named in memory of patient Audrey Prouty – is the biggest charity challenge north of Boston. This long-standing event takes place in Hanover, New Hampshire, and raises money for groundbreaking cancer research and important patient supportive services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC). Over its life of 37 years, the event has raised more than $36 million for this NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the few serving a rural population.
