The Bank of Bennington is pleased to announce the promotion of four long-time employees whose dedication and commitment continues to contribute to the success of the bank. Wendy Chenaille has been promoted to Vice President of Mortgage Origination, Patricia Bass has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Customer Solution Specialist, Kate Keough has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Commercial and Consumer Loan Operations and Maegan Wood has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Mortgage Underwriter.

Agency of Education names CFO

The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) announced today that William Bates has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Agency of Education effective August 5, 2019.

“Mr. Bates brings an extensive background in financial and organization management to the AOE,” said Secretary of Education, Daniel M. French, Ed.D. “His proven ability to lead change while also attending to business fundamentals will be a great asset to our agency. He is a collaborative leader who can bring people together to address complex issues like those facing our education system.”

Capstone Community Action hires new Director of Community Economic Development

Capstone Community Action announced that Elizabeth “Liz” Scharf was hired as the new community economic development director. As a member of Capstone’s leadership team, Liz will work to support and grow programs that advance economic security for low income Vermonters through financial coaching, asset building, micro-business and workforce development. Liz has a background in the banking and credit union industry and worked as Capstone’s savings and credit program coordinator as an AFCPE® Accredited Financial Counselor for the last five years.
