Cynthia K Hoehl Scholarships awarded to members of Boys & Girls Club of Burlington

The Boys and Girls Club of Burlington is pleased to announce the 2020 recipients of the Cynthia K Hoehl Scholarship: Faizo Hassan and Bienfait Badibanga. Faizo is attending Community College of Vermont, and Bienfait is attending Norwich University.

Cynthia Hoehl was a committed believer in the transformative power of education to help a young person create a healthy, vibrant life.

Stern Center for Language and Learning hires new director of professional learning

The Stern Center for Language and Learning is pleased to announce that Stefanie Waite is the nonprofit’s new Professional Learning Director. Stefanie oversees the quality, accessibility, and growth of the Stern Center’s professional learning programs for educators. The Stern Center delivers courses and workshops for educators in-person and online for nearly 1,000 participants annually. A passionate educator with expertise in structured literacy, curriculum, and assessment, Stefanie has worked in the education field for 25 years.

Downs Rachlin Martin announces advancements

Attorneys Timothy C Doherty, Jr and Kevin C McGrath have been named directors of the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. They were elected at the firm’s year-end meeting on December 18, 2019 and became directors on January 1, 2020. Both Doherty and McGrath practice out of the firm’s Burlington, Vt office.

Cari Kelley elected board president of Franklin County Chamber

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has recently elected Cari Kelley as president of the executive board. Cari currently serves the community in her role as workplace donor relations manager at United Way of Northwest Vermont. There she works with local businesses and their employees to drive workplace donor engagement, helping to educate the local workforce on issues facing our local community and United Way’s role in solving them.
