The “Rembrandt of Snow” Niehues releases a collection of seldom seen black and white mountain sketches

Famed landscape artist James Niehues (jamesniehues.com) and the Open Road Ski Company, which published the Man Behind the Maps book, are releasing a collection of sketches depicting 10 iconic mountains across the United States. These black and white sketches are an important step in the creation of Niehues’s hand-painted maps that have become synonymous with skiing. Included in the release are sketches of Stowe, Vermont.

Casella Waste Systems announces General Counsel transition

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (“Casella”) (Nasdaq: CWST), a regional solid waste, recycling and resource management services company, announced that after 14 years as the Company’s General Counsel, David L. Schmitt plans to retire on December 31, 2020. Shelley E. Sayward, currently Casella’s Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, will assume the General Counsel role effective January 1, 2021.

Slay presented with the Seven Seals Award

Congratulations to Susan Slay, Executive Assistant to the VT Adjutant General, Greg Knight. She was recently presented the Seven Seals Award by ESGR volunteers Jerry Manock, John desGroseilliers and Dave Wheel. The Seven Seals Award is presented in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission, to include the efforts of the more than 4,500 volunteers who carry out ESGR's mission across the Nation on a daily basis.
