Brattleboro Savings & Loan welcomed three new members to their Board of Directors at their annual meeting held at the end of April, while at the same time saying farewell to Gordon Bristol, who, after serving as a director for 29 years, decided to retire this year. “Gordon has been a wealth of knowledge and institutional memory for this bank and that will be hard to replace,” said Board Chairman Tom Wallin.
Pearce announces student winners of the Reading is an Investment financial education program
Vermont State Treasurer Beth Pearce announced the names of twenty Vermont students who won this year’s prize drawing for the Treasurer’s Office’s Reading is an Investment financial education program. The winners were drawn from 2,419 K-6 students who completed all steps of the financial literacy curriculum, entitling them to the drawing for one of twenty $250 college savings accounts.

Congratulations to Sarah Wraight for earning her membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)! The AICP is the American Planning Association’s professional institute. AICP certification is the only nationwide, independent verification of planners’ qualifications. To become certified, a planner must have a specified combination of relevant education and professional experience, must pass an examination that tests skills and knowledge, must pay an annual fee, and must be a member of the American Planning Association in good standing.
