Mary Blair named chief financial officer at Bank of Bennington

Mary Blair, former chief financial officer for the kitchen supply store JK Adams in Dorset, has been appointed chief financial officer at The Bank of Bennington. Blair has spent much of her professional career in the fields of accounting and finance. She is a graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, NY, and volunteers at the Manchester Community Library.

“Mary brings a wealth of experience to this position, and we are fortunate to be able to put that financial acumen to work for The Bank of Bennington,” said bank President Jim Brown.

David Qian joins Pathways Vermont Board of Directors

David Qian of South Burlington has joined the board of directors of Pathways Vermont, a nonprofit organization working to end homelessness and provide innovative mental health alternatives in Vermont. Qian has a background in finance and real estate investing and has served on the board of other nonprofits in New York City.

As an immigrant whose family struggled with housing issues, Qian brings a unique perspective to the Pathways board.

Alicia Fleming earns NAR designation in senior real estate

Alicia Fleming, owner of Golden Guide Real Estate at KW Vermont in South Burlington, has earned the nationally recognized seniors real estate specialist designation from the SRES Council of the National Association of Realtors.

Fleming joins more than 15,000 real estate professionals in North America who have earned the SRES designation. All were required to successfully complete a comprehensive course in understanding the needs, considerations and goals of real estate buyers and sellers ages 55 and older.

Sciarrotta named VP, general counsel and chief compliance officer at VELCO

The board of directors of Vermont Electric Power Company have voted unanimously to promote General Counsel, Senior Director and Sustainability Director Mark Sciarrotta to vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer. The board's action represents Sciarrotta’s latest advancement in his 15-plus-year career at VELCO.
