The Center for Community News at the University of Vermont has hired Courtney Lamdin (pictured) as Community News Service editor and Sima Bhowmik as research assistant professor, and appointed Scott Finn to the expanded role of lecturer of journalism and democracy.

Howard Center has promoted Lisa Martiny from assistant director to director of adult intensive services. In her new role, Martiny will oversee a broad range of programs designed to support adults with complex mental health needs, ensuring access to high-quality, person-centered care across the region.

Joyce Schartner, vice president and customer support and operations administrator at Passumpsic Bank, retired Jan. 16 after a 37-year career with the bank.

Throughout her tenure, Schartner held key leadership roles across ACH operations, facility management and the operations and customer support areas. She has been instrumental in navigating the bank through two acquisitions, several organizational changes and numerous operational improvements.
