Community Care Network’s 2025 service results and areas of advancement include: 93,387 hours of direct service provided to 3,593 clients across the functional service areas of Developmental Services, Adult Mental Health Services, Child and Family Services, Mental Health Crisis Services and Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Services; A total of 195,101 client services provided to Vermonters, including 183,299 client services in Rutland County.

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) has released the 2025 Vermont Agriculture Drought Survey Report and an accompanying interactive Power BI data dashboard. Between October 17 and December 15, 2025, the survey received 198 responses from agricultural businesses, representing all 14 counties. Estimated losses exceed $15.4 million on nearly 78,000 acres located across 109 Vermont towns. The 2025 drought is the third consecutive growing season farmers have suffered extreme weather events that have impacted their business operation, land base, workforce, and overall viability.
Vermont Business Magazine Union Bank has announced the appointment of Jeff Weidley as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive search process that began in the fall of 2025. Weidley brings more than two decades of experience in community and regional banking. He succeeds David S. Silverman, who will retire after 40 years with the Bank. Weidley’s career spans commercial banking, business banking, treasury management, digital transformation, and enterprise leadership. Vermont Business Magazine Cabot Creamery and Agri-Mark took home 17 awards at the World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, Wisconsin last week. Since 1957, the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association has hosted this premier technical cheese, butter and yogurt competition biennially. A team of 56 expert judges from all over the world evaluated 3,375 entries across 150 entry classes and 25 countries on flavor, body and texture, salt, color, finish, packaging and other attributes.

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont State Colleges System (VSC) Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Sherry Kollmann as system Vice Chancellor and President of Vermont State University (VTSU) following a comprehensive national search. Dr. Kollmann brings 25 years of experience in higher education, business and public service. She currently serves as Chancellor of New Mexico State University Global Campus. During her tenure, the Global Campus grew its online enrollment to more than 3,500 students, developed more than 80 in-demand degree and certificate programs, secured $17 million in state appropriations, and generated more than $30 million in tuition revenue.
Vermont Business Magazine The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) has announced the appointment of Sarah Furman as its next Executive Director. Furman will officially begin in the role on April 6. A lifelong Vermonter, Furman brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience in commercial lending, business services, and strategic organizational management. She most recently served as Chief Lending Officer at Heritage Family Credit Union, where she oversaw all lending departments, policies, collections, and loan-loss mitigation, while guiding strategic lending growth and risk management.
Vermont Business Magazine Average gasoline prices in Vermont are $3.36/g, up 38.0 cents per gallon from last week's $2.98/g. The lowest price in the state yesterday was $2.88/g while the highest was $3.89/g, a difference of $1.01/g. The national average price of gasoline has risen 51.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.45/g today. The national average is up 54.1 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 41.6 cents per gallon higher than a year ago
