Joining the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) team is Sasha Vaut, Director of Philanthropy. This new position with the VSO brings a fresh approach to strengthen the fund development and outreach to donors and sponsors. “My appreciation for music and experience in fundraising and development work allowed me to unite my skills and passion to support a true Vermont treasure,” Vaut explains.

VSECU CEO Rob Miller was recently appointed to the First District’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC). The council, which includes members from all New England states meets twice annually to advise the Bank on the economy, lending conditions, and other issues.

Stacey Remillard became the Human Resources Director for Northwestern Counseling & Support Services (NCSS), replacing long-time director Tony Treanor. It is fitting, and even heartwarming, that she replaces Tony, as she sat on the committee that hired him as the HR Director in 2001.

Two exceptional Vermont Technical College engineering students were honored by the college and recognized at a Vermont Society of Professional Engineers event on February 24 at the DoubleTree Hotel in South Burlington. Rose Wunrow is the winner of the 2017 Vermont Writers’ Prize. Her story “Where We Start From,” is a poignant story of a young man returning to Vermont on a special mission as an expression of unconditional love. The story slowly reveals his intentions as it shows his deep connection with Vermont. The Vermont Writers’ prize is awarded annually by Green Mountain Power and Vermont Magazine.

Johanna Beliveau, BSN, MBA, RN has been named Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance at Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC). The newly created position is part of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to Dr. Joseph Perras, CEO.

13 year old Cole Paquette of Bakersfield started the weekend with Super Bowl sized day at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Friday. It was trip to Gillette Stadium for his own personal tour that came to be after what Frank-fm morning host and program director TJ Michaels sent what he calls the “Hail Mary” E-mail.

Daniel Duvernoy has been named general manager of the 97-room Hampton Inn & Suites in Manchester. Scheduled to open in early summer, the project began construction on Rt. 7A in Manchester in June 2016. Duvernoy, a resident of Cambridge, NY, was recently the general manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites Saratoga Springs Downtown.

On Friday, February 24, 2017, BNI Vermont hosted a special chapter launch event at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Montpelier, Vermont making the Heart of Vermont BNI chapter the organizations 12th in Vermont. As part of the launch event the Chapter’s Charter Leadership Team was introduced to more than 75 small businesses owners from Central Vermont.

The University of Vermont Medical Center Board of Trustees has appointed two new trustees – Thomas Little, attorney and partner at Little & Cicchetti, PC, and Glen Wright, former partner with KMPG in Burlington, VT, and Washington, DC. These four-year appointments were made at the Board’s December meeting.
