Joining the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) team is Sasha Vaut, Director of Philanthropy. This new position with the VSO brings a fresh approach to strengthen the fund development and outreach to donors and sponsors. “My appreciation for music and experience in fundraising and development work allowed me to unite my skills and passion to support a true Vermont treasure,” Vaut explains. “In our small but thriving and precocious state, we are truly lucky to be rich with talent and support for the creative arts.”
Both Vermont and Massachusetts have been home states for Vaut and are where she has spent the majority of her career. Her past work included fund development, event management, and advocacy with the American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, and Urban Medical. Most recently, she served as the Walk Manager for the American Cancer Society’s oldest and largest one-day breast cancer walk in Boston, MA, raising $2.5 Million annually. Her experience includes securing sponsorships from local businesses and national brands, cultivating relationships with individual donors, and knocking a WIFFLE ball over the fence to ensure an event succeeds.
“Sasha is an outstanding addition to our team, and we’re fortunate to have someone of her talent and expertise here in the state. Her mission-centered focus and enthusiasm will be a crucial asset as we build statewide community and philanthropic support to connect more and more Vermonters through music.” said VSO Executive Director Benjamin Cadwallader. This year, the VSO will offer 40 performances across the state and nearly 300 SymphonyKids educational programs reaching 26,000 school children.
