Governor Phil Scott has appointed Paul F Noel of Irasburg as the new Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board member from Orleans County. The board is a citizen panel that sets rules regulating fishing, hunting and trapping in the state.
The Vermont Department of Labor has hired Rachel Dumeny as its communications and outreach coordinator to serve as the immediate media contact for the commissioner’s office. Dumeny will further the department’s goal of educating and informing the public on the variety of supports and services available to workers and employers.
University of Vermont faculty members Sefakor Komabu-Pomeyie and Marie Vea were named recipients of the university's 2022 Prelock Online Teaching Award in recognition of their superior online teaching. The award is named in honor of Provost and Senior Vice President Patricia Prelock, an early adopter of online teaching at UVM.

Jacob Rist, a 2019 graduate of the University of Vermont, has been promoted to director of operations at Sticky Brand, a South Burlington-based print production company focusing primarily on stickers, magnets and labels. In just four years, Rist has climbed the ranks at Sticky Brand from intern up through oversight of all daily operations.
Former US Senator Patrick J Leahy, who retired in January as the third-longest-serving senator in the nation’s history, has been named a President’s Distinguished Fellow at the University of Vermont. Leahy will participate in campus activities with a special focus on the numerous program areas for which he was an advocate for Vermont.

Governor Phil Scott has appointed Matthew Bernstein as inaugural director of the state Office of Child, Youth and Family Advocate, effective Feb 27. The office was established by the Legislature last year to monitor the performance of and recommend reforms to the state's child welfare system as well as serve as a resource for families whose children are being served by the system.
