Ron Lumbra, a partner in the CEO & Board Practice of the international executive search and management consulting company Heidrick & Struggles, was reelected March 1 to a fourth one-year term as chair of the University of Vermont Board of Trustees. Three new members were also welcomed to the board that day.
Lumbra (pictured), who is scheduled to serve on the board until March 2028, has more than 22 years of executive search and succession consulting experience and an extensive track record of recruiting board directors and chief executive officers to a broad variety of clients. He is a UVM graduate and holds an MBA from Harvard University.
New members elected to the board are:
- State Representative Monique Priestly, D-Orange-2, executive director for The Space On Main, a nonprofit community workspace she founded in 2017, and director of digital for CampusCE Corporation, an educational software technology company. She was elected to the board by the Vermont State Legislature, with a term expiring in March 2029. Priestley is a graduate of Northern Vermont University–Lyndon and holds a Master of Communication in digital media from the University of Washington.
- State Representative Tristan Toleno, D-Windham-9, chief financial officer and chief operating office of Global Round Table Leadership, a certified B Corp virtual training company. He previously served on the board from 2015-2021 and was reelected by the Vermont State Legislature to a six-year term expiring in 2029. Toleno is a graduate of Wesleyan University and holds an MBA from Marlboro College.
- Katelynn Briere, a second-year medical student at UVM's Larner College of Medicine. She was appointed to a two-year term on the board by the associate directors for the Appointment of Student Trustees. She is a graduate of Saint Michael’s College.
In addition, trustees Shap Smith and Frank Cioffi were reappointed to six-year terms. The legislature reelected Smith, and Governor Phil Scott re-appointed Cioffi to another gubernatorial term.
