Governor Peter Shumlin and Public Safety Commissioner Keith Flynn have announced the appointment of Joe Flynn as the new Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety. Flynn will assume the position that is currently held by Francis (Paco) Aumand who is retiring on July 24th.

State Director, Linda Rossi, announced that Charley Ininger has been selected as the 2015 State Star of Vermont Small Business Development Center.

Charlie Kireker, Chair of Vermont Public Radio’s Board of Directors, has been elected to the NPR Foundation Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

Secretary of State Jim Condos has been elected Eastern Region Vice-President of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS). This is his third consecutive term on the Executive Board of NASS, previously serving in 2013-2014 and again 2014-2015. Secretary Condos was elected by his peers at the 2015 annual NASS summer meeting in Portland, Maine.

With the arrival of two new radiologists Gifford Medical Center has created its first employee-staffed Radiology Department. Gifford previously contracted radiology services through outside private practices.

Karen Rich-Smith, RN, has been selected as employee of the month at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center for the month of June 2015.
