Rutland Regional Medical Center, the largest community hospital in Vermont, has recognized four health care employees as 2022 Providers of the Year. The winners were selected for their contributions to the Greater Rutland community, staff and patients.

The Bank of Bennington has promoted Kati Irwin and Alec Nicol to branch managers and elevated Jason Redden and Susan Bushee to new positions in the loan department. Irwin, a nine-year Bank of Bennington employee, will manage the Arlington branch, and Nicol, a four-year bank employee, will lead the Manchester branch.

Sethuraman Panchanathan, director of the US National Science Foundation, will address University of Vermont's newest graduates at the school's commencement ceremony May 21. Panchanathan will also receive an honorary degree, along with Michele Cohen, a founding members of the UVM Foundation Board, and Dr Mark Levine, Vermont commissioner of health.
Tracy Zschau, vice president for land protection at the Vermont Land Trust, will take on the additional duties of interim president of the organization, its board of trustees announced.
Kristin Warner of Montpelier, former director of organizing at the Vermont State Employees' Association, has joined Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility as public policy manager. In her new role, Warner will support VBSR’s efforts to advance the organization’s policy goals, working closely with VBSR members.
The Vermont Symphony Orchestra has tapped Andrew Crust as its fifth music director. Crust succeeds Jaime Laredo, who stepped down in 2021 after a 20-year tenure leading the VSO. Crust’s first concert as the VSO’s music director will be Sept 30 at the Flynn in Burlington.
Kellie Klasen, acting executive director of student support services for the Burlington School District, has been appointed to the position on a permanent basis. Klasen joined the district last November as associate director and stepped in as acting director in January.
Anne O’Connor, MD, former assistant professor at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, has joined Copley Hospital in Morrisville as medical director of the emergency department.
