Alfonso Villegas joins Gravel & Shea litigation group

Alfonso Villegas of South Burlington, former deputy state's attorney for Washington County, is joining the Burlington law firm Gravel & Shea as an associate in the litigation group.

“I look forward to serving the clients of Gravel & Shea and recognize the depth of experience and relationships the firm maintains in Vermont and beyond,” Villegas said. “It will be a privilege to bring my experience to the litigation group and provide the same high-quality service that clients are accustomed to receiving at the firm.”

In his previous position in Washington County, Villegas focused on drug crime investigations and prosecutions. He also served as a drug treatment court prosecutor, advocating for state interests, and helped craft the statewide policy and procedures manual for Vermont treatment courts.

Villegas served as a law clerk in both the Windsor County and Rutland County state’s attorney offices. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and earned a law degree at what is now known as Vermont Law and Graduate School.
