The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports presented the Second Annual Michael Feulner Award to University of Vermont Health Network – Central Vermont Medical Center in recognition of having the most employees participate in the Vermont Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race on May 14, 2015.

The University of Vermont College of Medicine has announced the appointment of Gordon L. Jensen, M.D., Ph.D., as senior associate dean for research. Jensen will also serve as professor of medicine and professor of nutrition and food sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Dr. Nicholas H. Heintz, CMB Program Director at the University of Vermont, recently announced the winners of the 2015 Norman R. Alpert Research Award. Brian Cunnif and Kheng Newick won as co-first authors for their publication, "Disabling Mitochondrial Peroxide Metabolism via Combinatorial Targeting of Peroxiredoxin 3 as an Effective Therapeutic Approach for Malignant Mesothelioma"1.

The Vermont Agency FoundationTM recently hosted its 4th annual All Charity Classic at Burlington Country Club. Twenty-four teams participated, each playing on behalf of the charity of their choice. Cash prizes totaling $44,000 were awarded to the represented charities.
