Northern Stage Moves to Dual-Headed Leadership, Hires Managing Director

Due to Northern Stage's growth over the last 12 years, the company has moved from single-headed leadership to dual-headed leadership. The company has hired Perry Allison, formerly of Eons, Inc. of Boston, to serve as Managing Director alongside Founding Artistic Director Brooke Ciardelli. Most professional theaters of Northern Stage's size throughout the country utilize dual-headed leadership.

Jack DuBrul named Champlain Distinguished Citizen

Champlain College named Jack DuBrul of Shelburne its 2009 Distinguished Citizen for his long-time behind-the-scenes support of community and educational programs. The award was presented to Dubrul, 75, at Champlain College's 2009 Convocation ceremony on Aug. 28 as part of the welcome for the incoming class of 2013. Champlain College President David F. Finney told the gathering, including 550 freshmen, that "Jack DuBrul long ago figured out that combining his passions with his work was the formula for both a successful business and a rewarding role in the community."

Vermont Chamber of Commerce names Citizen of the Year

For nearly five decades, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce has annually awarded an individual who has gone above and beyond his or her daily requirements to better the state of Vermont through self-sacrifice, service and volunteerism. In the crowded field of awards given to Vermont community members, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award is one of the most prestigious.

Governor Douglas appoints Marc D. Brierre Rutland County State’s Attorney

Governor Jim Douglas today announced the appointment of Marc D. Brierre as Rutland County State’s Attorney. Marc is replacing Jim Mongeon who retired last month.

“I’m pleased to appoint Marc to this important position,” said Governor Douglas. “I believe that Marc has the skills and experience necessary to continue the good work being done to keep Rutland safe.”
