Essex woman joins Champlain College Admissions

Alison Mueller of Essex has joined Champlain College as the Vermont Admissions representative working with area high schools and guidance counselors. Originally from Nashua, NH, she graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NY in 2007 with a BA in Criminal Justice. Prior to Champlain College, she worked as Assistant Director of Admissions at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH.

VSO honors local volunteers

The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Association held its annual meeting on September 30 at the Three Stallion Inn in Randolph. At the meeting, three retiring directors from the Governing Board were recognized: Craig Tomkinson of Belmont, Michael Flynn of Essex (who served as treasurer from 2003-2009), and John Dinse of Shelburne (who served on the board for 16 years, and as chairman from 2001-2005).

Vermont MedicalSociety elects new officers

Robert Tortolani, M.D., was named president of the Vermont Medical Society (VMS) during its 196th annual meeting held at the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes.

Dr. Tortolani, a board-certified family practice physician, has practiced medicine in Brattleboro since 1973 and is an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at the Dartmouth Medical School. He earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester in 1967 and conducted his residency in family practice at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont.
