College of St. Joseph welcomes new bookstore manager

The College of St. Joseph in Rutland is pleased to announce the appointment of Deidre Snee as new bookstore manager. Deidre, currently of Center Rutland, VT, was born in New Jersey to an artistic family. Deidre majored in fiber arts at Georgia Southern University and the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. While living in Philadelphia, Deidre worked for Glen-Abby Stationary Store and Brookstone Company in retail sales.

Major General Michael Dubie Named Champlain College Distinguished Citizen

Champlain College will honor Major General Michael D. Dubie as this year’s Distinguished Citizen at the Convocation ceremony for incoming first-year students on Friday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. at Skiff Hall. Dubie was born and raised in the Burlington area and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at the University of Vermont and a Masters of Arts degree in International Relations from Norwich University. He has studied national and international security at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

NRG Systems’ Jan Blittersdorf named to American Wind Energy Association Board of Directors

NRG Systems, Inc., manufacturer of wind measurement equipment, announced that Jan Blittersdorf, CEO and president has joined the new 2010-2011 Board of Directors for the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).

A graduate of the University of Vermont, Jan Blittersdorf joined NRG Systems in 1987. After serving as vice president and CFO, she became CEO and president in 2004. Jan serves as vice chair of the American Wind Wildlife Institute and is on the board of directors of the Women of Wind Energy, the Fairbanks Museum and the Institute for Sustainable Communities.
