Vermont Society of Professional Engineers announces 2011 award winners

John Lens, P.E., has received the 2011 Vermont Engineer of the Year award from the Vermont Society of Professional Engineers. Lens, a civil engineer, has been a principal at GeoDesign, Inc., in Windsor, VT, since 1995 and is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Vermont. His recent professional experience includes the Crown Point-to-Addison emergency ferry crossing docks, and he is the author of numerous technical papers on deep pile foundations and contaminated soils.

CVOEO's Human Resource Director passes certification

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is pleased to announce that Kelli Rivers, Human Resources Director, has passed The HR Certification Institute’s Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) exam. This certification covers all human resource disciplines and is designed for the HR professional who formulates and plans policy, uses judgment gained through experience and application, and understands management and business processes beyond the HR function.

Adam Sullivan named WCAX-TV Weekend Anchor

WCAX News is pleased to announce that Adam Sullivan will anchor the weekend news broadcasts. Adam will lead Channel 3’s coverage for the 6 and 11 pm broadcasts on Saturdays and Sundays. “Adam brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our weekend team,” said WCAX-TV News Director Anson Tebbetts.

“I’m excited and honored to continue our proud tradition of telling compelling stories to those living in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York” said Sullivan. Sullivan will continue to cover Vermont and New Hampshire as the station’s bureau chief in the Upper Valley.
