Dewoolkar honored with Vermont Campus Compact’s 2011 Engaged Scholar Award

Dr. Mandar Dewoolkar has been named the recipient of Vermont Campus Compact's 2011 Engaged Scholar Award for community-based teaching and scholarship that addresses social, economic, and environmental concerns, and for development of collaborative partnerships with communities that engage students in local and global communities. The award will be presented at the 8th Annual Vermont Campus Compact Statewide Awards Ceremony & Reception on Thursday, April 7 in the Capitol Plaza Hotel & Conference Center, Montpelier, VT from 4 to 6 pm.

VPT's Chief Content Officer named to National Committee

Kathryn A. Scott, chief content officer for Vermont Public Television, has been named to the Production Council Executive Committee for The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA).

NETA is a national professional association that serves public television licensees and educational entities in all 50 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Scott will help to provide professional development for NETA members and to design the upcoming national conference, which will be held October 18-20 in Kansas City.

State of Vermont hires new chief marketing officer

A Middlesex woman with an extensive background in marketing and brand management will be the new chief marketing officer for the State of Vermont.

Kathy Murphy, currently the director of marketing for the Vermont Ski Areas Association, will join the state Agency of Commerce and Community Development this month as the new chief marketing officer. Murphy will assist various state agencies with marketing campaigns and oversee the process of updating the Vermont Brand.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has appointed 15 people to its Vermont State Advisory Committee. Montshire's Director of Eduction Gerg DeFrances is one of just 18 museum leaders who has been selected as a Noyce Fellow by the Noyce Leadership Institute. The Noyce Foundation, in collaboration with the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) offers a highly competitive sponsored fellowship program to increase the public impact of science centers.

New Structural Technologist joins Engineering Ventures

Melissa a Structural Technologist,has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Norwich University, and holds a double minor in Civil Engineering and Leadership Studies.
