Citizens appoints Joseph Carelli as next President of Citizens Bank, New Hampshire and Vermont

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. has announced that Joseph Carelli, Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking, has been appointed President of Citizens Bank, New Hampshire and Vermont. Carelli, 52, will assume the role in June and succeed Cathy Schmidt, who has served as State President for five years. Carelli is based in Manchester.

Three new women owned businesses launch this month

Three new businesses launched this month by recent graduates of the Women’s Small Business Program, (WSBP). WSBP is one of several programs run by Mercy Connections whose mission is to nurture self-sufficiency through education, mentoring and community. According to program coordinator Ali Marchildon, these three new businesses are opening their doors in the toughest economy since the Great Depression by starting small, designing or bartering for their own websites, keeping low inventory, and basing year one operations out of their homes.

Governor appoints VCFA president to NEBHE board

It has been announced that Thomas Christopher Greene, President of Vermont College of Fine Arts, has been appointed by Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin to serve on the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE).

The NEBHE was formed in 1955 by six New England governors with the goal to promote greater educational opportunities and services for the residents of New England. Each New England state is represented on the NEBHE by eight delegates – leaders of education, business, and government who are appointed by their states' governors and legislative leadership.

Michaela Quinlan, Realtor joins Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty

Burdick named Doubletree Employee of the Year

Rick Milliken, General Manager of the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton has announced that Danielle Burdick has been selected as Employee of the Year. Burdick joined the hotel in 2007 and is a Banquet Server. She was honored for exceptional guest service and meeting a high level of DoubleTree standards.

A native of Newport, VT, she attended Lyndon State College and has worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years. The DoubleTree offers 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space and is designated as a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State.
