Ellen Kane elected to the Board of Directors of Opportunities Credit Union

Ellen Kane was elected to the Board of Directors of Opportunities Credit Union. She is the CEO/President of the Fanny Allen Corporation, Inc. Previously, she worked for social service and educational nonprofits in development, securing funding for programs that improve the quality of life for the homeless and disadvantaged. She has a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Columbia College (Chicago) and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Loyola University of Chicago. Ms. Kane lives in Richmond, Vermont.

Larry Lewack elected to the Board of Directors of Opportunities Credit Union

Larry Lewack was elected to the Board of Directors of Opportunities Credit Union. He is the Neuro-Resource Facilitator for the Vermont Brain Injury Association. Larry has had 18 years of experience as a nonprofit CEO and program manager. He has a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management from the Vermont College of Union Institute & University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences & Humanities from the New College of Florida. Mr. Lewack lives in Burlington.

Saint Michael’s names top 2011 graduate admission counselor for the college

Matthew M. Seklecki, cum laude 2011 graduate from Saint Michael's College with a degree in both history and political science, and winner of the Father Prevel Memorial Award given to the top male graduate each year, was named Admission Counselor for Saint Michael’s College. Seklecki started his job as official representative and recruiter for the college this month.

Saint Michael’s names experienced recruitment professional as Assistant Director of Admission

Aislinn Doyle, director of admissions for the Maritime Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport, was named assistant director of admission for Saint Michael's College starting this month. Her assignment will include travel for student recruitment in Ohio, and upstate and western New York.

Ms. Doyle is a 2006 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in journalism, American studies and dance. She earned a master of education degree in arts in education in 2008 from Harvard University.

Tom Murphy presents at VEOC Annual Conference

Thomas P. Murphy, a Senior Project Manager with Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. (ECS) of Waterbury, was a presenter at the Vermont Employee Ownership Center’s (VEOC’s) Ninth Annual Conference on June 10, 2011 at Champlain College.

Mr. Murphy collaborated with Paul Horn, President of WorkPlace Consultants, LLC of Bethesda, MD and Jason Mazur of Gardener’s Supply of Williston, VT to present “Jumpstart Your ESOP Committee.” Mr. Murphy also attended the conference in 2010 and ECS’ Chief Financial Officer attended in 2009.
