Small Dog Electronics has announced the hiring of Dawn D’Angelillo as director of marketing. As the director of marketing, Dawn will create and implement marketing and communications plans and sales strategies in collaboration with web development staff, retail, and sales departments.

D’Angelillo is not unfamiliar with Small Dog Electronics, as she served as the company’s original director of marketing from 1998 to 2006 when she helped Small Dog become the largest Apple Specialist in New England through her specialty: web-based marketing.

Angela Webster appointed new personal investment manager at Merchants Trust Company

Molly Dillon, Senior Trust and Community Banking Officer at Merchants Bank, announced that Angela S. Webster has joined the Merchants Trust Company as Personal Investment Manager in the Manchester office.

Webster joins Merchants following more than six years in the Wealth Management division at People’s United Bank, formerly Chittenden Bank, in Bennington. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Wealth Management Officer, working directly with clients to address trust, estate and financial planning needs.

Casey Baraw, who played an integral role in the opening of Taiga Spa and Fitness at Jay Peak Resort, branched out on her own and opened Inspired Yoga in Jay village. State Board of Education elects officers, welcomes new member

The State Board of Education elected officers at its March 20, 2012 meeting, the Department of Education announced today. Stephan Morse of Newfane was elected Board chair, and Kathy Larsen of Wilmington will continue serving as vice-chair.

“My approach as Board chair is to be all inclusive, and hopefully reach consensus on key issues,” said Morse. “I plan to meet frequently with education leaders. There will be differences along the way, but the goal is to find agreement where we can. We owe it to our students to speak with one voice.”

Vermont State Board member chosen to serve on national panel to make policy recommendations

The National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) is pleased to announce that Donald Collins, a resident of Swanton and a member of the Vermont State Board of Education, has been appointed to serve on the NASBE Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC), the entity responsible for developing federal policy recommendations and communicating with Congress and federal officials about the education reform priorities of state boards of education. Collins with be meeting with congressional leaders on March 22-23 to discuss these priorities.
