Carrie Williams Howe named director of Vermont Campus Compact

Carrie Williams Howe, director of the Office of Community-University Partnerships and Service-Learning (CUPS) at the University of Vermont, has been named executive director of Vermont Campus Compact, an organization dedicated to engaging Vermont colleges and universities in community-based teaching, learning, research and service. Ms. Williams Howe will begin as director at the VCC offices located on the campus of Saint Michael’s College on September 4.

Robert Silvestri joins TD Bank as small business relationship manager in Montpelier

TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, has named Robert O. Silvestri as Small Business Relationship Manager in Montpelier, Vt. Fla. He is responsible for managing and facilitating credit, leasing, and commercial mortgage solutions for a portfolio of 92 small business clients throughout Vermont.

Silvestri has 21 years of banking experience. Prior to joining TD Bank, he served as a Business Development Manager at Farmington Bank in Farmington, Conn. Silvestri is a member of SCORE.

Henri Sparks appointed to sit on Burlington School District Prevention Advisory Council

Henri Sparks, Equity Director of the Burlington School District, has been appointed to sit on the Harassment, Hazing, and Bullying Prevention Advisory Council recently announced by Commissioner of Education Armando Vilaseca. This council will provide a regular forum for communication and collaboration between Vermont's Commissioner of Education and the community. Commissioner Vilaseca reports the goal of the council is to provide resources and supports to schools as they address issues of harassment, hazing and/or bullying.
