Patricia Venti was recently named Director of Advancement at Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home. Visitation at the historic Lincoln site in Manchester, experienced an 18% increase in admissions in 2012 so she joins the Hildene team at a time of unprecedented growth. Given this environment, Venti will dedicate her time to advancement with a focus on development and constituent relations and a goal of growing membership as well as annual and corporate giving.

Family Practice of Newport has a new manager

The Family Practice of Newport has a new manager but she isn't new to the practice. She is Pam Jefferson RN. Pam has worked as the practice's triage nurse for the last two years.

Pam accepted the position on October 28. She will be managing the very busy primary care practice of Dr. James Holcomb, Dr. Rachel DiSanto, Dr. John Lippman, Linda Chasse, FNP, and Nicole Engler, FNP.

“I feel fortunate to be in this position,” Pam said. “It has been a great learning experience. I find it very exciting.”

Carolyn Kuebler to become editor of the New England Review

Middlebury College has announced the appointment of Carolyn Kuebler as editor of the New England Review, a quarterly literary journal published by the college. She will assume her new responsibilities in January 2014, when Stephen Donadio steps down from his role as editor, a position he has held since 1994. Until the end of the year Kuebler will continue to serve in her current position as managing editor while preparing for the transition.

Waitsfield’s Nick Keating to join Vermonter Kearney and other U.S. members at World Cup Test in Russia

Former Freestyle Junior National Mogul Champion, 2-Time Junior World Team Member and Killington Mountain School (KMS) alumnus Nick Keating ’10 has been named to the U.S. Freestyle Team roster for athletes to compete at the World Cup event in Sochi, Russia, this month. The event is an Olympic test event in preparation for the 2014 Games. Keating, from Waitsfield, earned the spot because of his solid, ninth place finish in his World Cup debut at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y. last month.

UVM Arts & Sciences building to be named after former UVM president Lattie Coor

The administrative home of the University of Vermont College of Arts and Sciences at 438 College St. will be named after one of UVM’s longest serving and most successful presidents, Lattie F. Coor.

The UVM Board of Trustees passed a resolution on Friday naming the building, which houses the offices of the college’s dean, the Lattie F. Coor House. Trustees plan a formal dedication event when the board reconvenes in May over Commencement Weekend.

Amber Barber selected to join American College of Family Trial Lawyers

Amber L. Barber, a matrimonial and family law attorney at the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, has been chosen for membership in the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, a select group of attorneys recognized for excellence in litigation and superior legal skills in the areas of complex family and matrimonial law matters.

Barber, who was also recently elected president of the Vermont Bar Association, is the only attorney so recognized by the ACFTL in the state of Vermont.

A leading educator and author, Mastianni is being recognized for significant achievement and remarkable service to Canada.

Kurn Hattin Homes for Children welcomes Co-Executive Directors

State Treasurer Pearce appointed to National Leadership Positions

The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators has named Vermont State Treasurer Beth Pearce as its 2013 President. NAUPA has representatives from all states, the District of Columbia, and other international governmental entities, and is charged with promoting and strengthening unclaimed property administration in order to enhance the return of unclaimed property to rightful owners.
