Family Practice of Newport has a new manager

The Family Practice of Newport has a new manager but she isn't new to the practice. She is Pam Jefferson RN. Pam has worked as the practice's triage nurse for the last two years.

Pam accepted the position on October 28. She will be managing the very busy primary care practice of Dr. James Holcomb, Dr. Rachel DiSanto, Dr. John Lippman, Linda Chasse, FNP, and Nicole Engler, FNP.

“I feel fortunate to be in this position,” Pam said. “It has been a great learning experience. I find it very exciting.”

Her duties are wide-ranging, including working with doctors and the medical staff on scheduling and coverage. She also ensures their credentials are up to date. In addition, at least for the time-being, she is still actively working as a nurse in the practice caring for patients.

A native of Massachusetts, she graduated from the Northern Essex Community College in Massachusetts. She worked as a registered nurse at the Exeter Hospital in Exeter, New Hampshire, before moving to Vermont at which time she accepted a position as the Director of Nursing at a Northeast Kingdom nursing home. Pam joined Family Practice as a triage nurse in February 2010.

“I have a great crew,” she said. “They have made my transition smooth. I look forward to continuing to serve our patients.”
