Christopher L. Caldwell has been promoted to president and CEO at Vermont-based Community National Bank and its parent company, Community Bancorp., effective Jan. 1. He succeeds Kathy Austin, who retired on Dec. 31 but will continue to serve on the boards of both the bank and the company.

Alice Charkes, Mark Anders join Local Motion board
Educator Alice Charkes, of Brattleboro, and transportation planner Mark Anders, of Bennington, have joined the board of directors at Local Motion, Vermont’s statewide bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization.
Charkes, a retired elementary school French teacher, has been a strong advocate for bicyclists and pedestrians for over 20 years in the Brattleboro area. She is a founding member of the Brattleboro Coalition for Active Transportation and served as a tour leader and trainer at the Adventure Cycling Association for 25 years.
