Iris Davis joins DuBois & King

DuBois & King, Inc., consulting engineers announce that Iris Davis has joined the firm as a Mechanical Designer. A recent graduate of the Vermont Technical College, Ms. Davis earned two Bachelor’s degrees: one in Architecture and one in Sustainable Design and Technology as well as an Associate’s Degree in Architecture and Building Technology. Ms. Davis works in the firm’s Williston Office and currently resides in Moretown.

Philip Steckler of Country Business, Inc. of Brattleboro, VT, has been selected as one of the 2012 Pratt’s Stats Hall of Fame award winner. This database provides details of completed sales and is used by business brokers, merger and acquisition professionals, and appraisers, in seeking comparable sales in various industries. Mr. Steckler received this recognition for providing information on the many business sales he has managed over the years.

Human rights commission chooses new director

The Vermont Human Rights Commission (HRC) has chosen Karen Richards, director of the Poverty Law Project at Vermont Legal Aid, to serve as the commission’s new executive director.

Richards has extensive experience in public interest law, including litigating fair housing, employment discrimination, and special education and other disability-related cases. In addition to her legal aid work, Richards has served as a consultant to the Vermont Judiciary and as legal counsel to the Vermont Department of Education.
