New owner, chef and manager at Bromley Market

Scotty Aquilino, former co-owner of the Winhall Market, has purchased the Bromley Market, on Route 11 in Peru, and has brought her chef and manager from the Winhall Market with her.

Aquilino has been a “foodie” from back when “foodie” wasn’t even a term; before her three and a half year stint at the Winhall Market, Scotty and her late husband ran Bondville’s very popular River Café for eighteen years. Terasa Williams head-chefed at Winhall the entire time Scotty was there, and long-time store manager, Lisa “Lisa B” Bauch, had been a fixture at the Winhall store for many years.

DoubleTree names Goodman Manager of Year

Rick Milliken, General Manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington has announced that David Goodman has received the hotel’s 2012 Manager of the Year Award. Goodman serves as Controller and manages financial operations, forecasting and budgeting for the hotel and Trader Duke’s restaurant.

A native of Albany, NY, he graduated from Paul Smith’s College with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He joined the hotel in 2001 as staff accountant and payroll administrator prior to his promotion to Controller in 2011. He is a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

Senator Patrick Leahy to deliver commencement address at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' Colchester Campus

Sec’y of State Jim Condos announces three new members join the Vermont Historical Records advisory board

Secretary of State Jim Condos announced today that State Archivist Tanya Marshall has appointed Mary Ide of Brattleboro, Leah Korce of Huntington, and Brian Lindner of Waterbury to the Vermont Historical Records Advisory Board (VHRAB).

“Mary, Leah, and Brian each have a great amount of professional expertise and a diversity of experience related to archives and records management. We are very excited that they will be lending their talents to the board,” Condos said.

McDonough has been promoted to full-time Director of Athletics and Dan Engelstad, until recently assistant basketball coach at the College of Holy Cross, has been named SVC’s head men’s basketball coach.

Scott Carpenter joins People's United as senior VP

People’s United Bank has announced that Scott D. Carpenter has joined People’s United Bank as Senior Vice President, Director of Wealth Management and Private Banking in Vermont. As Director, Carpenter will oversee all aspects of wealth management and private banking operations. Carpenter succeeds Sylvia MacKinnon who recently announced her retirement. Carpenter will assume his new position in mid-April.
