Logic Supply welcomes new employees

Lauren Lavallee, has joined Logic Supply as the marketing and recruitment specialist. Lauren graduated from Champlain College with a B.S. in Marketing Management and is currently halfway through Champlain College’s MBA program with a concentration in IT Management. Lauren is looking forward to developing her marketing skills, putting her MBA to use and growing along with Logic Supply.

Norwich announces Charles A. Dana professorship

At commencement ceremonies last week, Norwich University officials named History Professor Reina Pennington a Charles A. Dana Professor of History, a prestigious award accompanied by an annual stipend of $10,000.

Pennington, who has taught at Norwich since 1999, was chosen by a selection committee of current Dana professors.

“Her scholarly record is exceptional within the Norwich community,” said David Westerman, Charles A. Dana Professor of Geology and associate vice president for research.

The Greater Burlington YMCA awarded a Robert Wood Johnson grant to combat childhood obesity in Vermont

The Greater Burlington YMCA was selected as one of 14 YMCA's across the country to lead Pioneering Healthier Communities (PHC) - an initiative that addresses the childhood obesity epidemic in its region through policy, sytems and environmental change. Following a successful completion of a competitive application process, the Greater Burlington YMCA was awarded a $250,000 program grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).

Okemo promotes Eric Evans to Tater Hill Golf club head golf pro

PGA Professional Eric Evans has been promoted to the position of Head Golf Professional and Manager at Tater Hill Golf Club, in Windham, Vt. Formerly assistant golf professional, Evans has been with the popular south-central Vermont golf course for five years. He also works in Okemo Mountain Resort’s Competition Center during the winter months.

“Obtaining this position with Tater Hill Golf Club is the next step for me,” said Evans. “It is the fulfillment of my hopes and dreams.”

Marketing firm welcomes project manager to Burlington office

Kelliher Samets Volk (KSV), a Burlington-based marketing communications firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Sarah Cocina to its brand management team.

Cocina joins KSV as project manager after working for nearly a decade as marketing manager for KL Mountain Shop, an online outerwear specialist. While at KL, her efforts incorporated both traditional and digital marketing with special emphasis on web development management, SEO, CPC ads, and design work. Cocina is a Shelburne, VT native, and received a BFA from Alfred University in Alfred, NY.

Keep BT local cooperative's momentum builds as seven-member board gets to work

Less than one month after its first membership meeting, the Keep BT Local Coop elected a seven-member board of directors that represents a strong mix of legal, financial, technical, strategic, and operational talents.

The group, which formed in an effort to acquire Burlington Telecom as a member-owned cooperative, established by-laws on April 6, and on April 13 launched its first-ever election.

First Lyndon State College presidential medal of distinction recipients announced

Lyndon State College President Joe Bertolino has announced the award of a Presidential Medal of Distinction to both Jan Eastman and Bill Stenger at Commencement, last Sunday, May 19.

This new award was created by Bertolino to honor prominent individuals who have had a significant and positive impact on Lyndon State College, the Northeast Kingdom, and the State of Vermont. Members of the LSC community were invited to submit nominees this winter and spring. The medal was designed by LSC Visual Arts student Brandon Heanssler.
