Dr. Gorman joins NMC, offers services through Northwestern Pulmonology

Northwestern Medical Center is pleased that Dr. Stephen Gorman has begun offering pulmonology services through Northwestern Pulmonology.

Dr. Gorman will see patients at Northwestern Pulmonology on Mondays and Wednesdays each week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering care for a variety of respiratory ailments including COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), asthma and shortness of breath.

Pale Morning Media adds ski industry marketing pro Patrick Brown to growing public relations team

Pale Morning Media today announced the addition of account manager Patrick Brown, strengthening the agency’s growing expertise in snowsports retail, resort marketing and strategic communications.

Most recently, Brown served as the Communications Manager at Sugarbush Resort (Warren, Vermont). His work included media relations, social media management, crisis communications, content creation, digital communications and partnership development. Brown’s efforts were credited with increasing skier visits and sales.

SVC students in Colleges Against Cancer Club raise funds for SVMC Cancer Center

Southern Vermont College student-members of Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) raised $1,200 which was presented to the Cancer Center at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC). The money was used to purchase two television sets and gift cards for items to be used in the Center’s garden and for patients. The students, with CAC advisor and SVC Assistant Dean of Students Mike Goodwin, sponsored several events during the academic year to raise the funds.

Norwich presents recital in honor of composer John Cage

Norwich University carillonneur George Matthew Jr. will perform a free recital of American composer John Cage’s compositions for the carillon on the Upper Parade Ground on Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m.

Cage, one of the most influential American composers of the 20th century, was a leading figure of the post-war avant-garde.

Matthew has been carillonneur for Middlebury College and Norwich

University since 1985. Norwich’s carillon comprises 47 bells ranging in size from 10 to 3,500 pounds, all housed in a bell tower and played from a keyboard.

Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival names Jody Woos as new executive director

Joanna (Jody) Woos has been named Executive Director of the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival, Buff Lindau, Vice President of the Festival board, announced today.

Woos is the founder and Executive Director of the Green Mountain Suzuki Institute, a summer music camp for students ages 4 to adult, and also maintains a private piano studio in New Haven, VT. Her background is enormously varied, and includes broad teaching experience from pre-kindergarten through college, nonprofit management experience, and the commissioning of new chamber works for young players.

Community Bancorp. holds annual shareholders’ meeting

Stephen P. Marsh, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Community Bancorp. and Community National Bank (CNB), welcomed close to 200 shareholders at the Elks’ Club on May 14, 2013, for the Annual Shareholders’ meeting.

Mr. Marsh led the group in The Pledge of Allegiance and continued with introductions of new Shareholders, Community Bancorp.
