Vermont Signature Sauces welcomes new partner, expands product line

Vermont Signature Sauces is expanding two ways—Adding two new flavors to their first class line of gourmet finishing sauces as well as taking steps toward new marketing approaches.

Karen Whitman, one of the original founders of Vermont Signature Sauces, has taken on Nancy Bazin of Westminster, Vermont, as a partner to help expand an already growing business.

The company produced it first four sauces in August 2011:

New England Air Systems, LLC welcomes CFO

New England Air Systems, LLC is pleased to announce that Michael T. Picard has been hired as Chief Financial Officer. He will be responsible for all aspects of finance, information technology and inventory systems, the corporation's safety program, as well as provide support on all strategic and infrastructure initiatives.

Michael previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for Control Technologies, Inc. He also spent 23 years in the Trust and Investment industry, serving as a Vice President with Chittenden Bank and Assistant Vice President with Shawmut Bank.

Norwich University announces new director for nursing program

Norwich University’s College of Professional Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sharon I. Richie-Melvan as the new director of the School of Nursing beginning July 1, 2013.

Richie-Melvan is an international nurse educator, oral historian, spiritual/mental health promoter and retired U.S. Army colonel.

Recently, she worked as the volunteer research director for the Institute for the Survivors of Sexual Violence (ISSV), where she conducted research on the efficacy of clinical treatment programs for trauma.

Corrente and Link to lead the culinary experiences at Bluebird Restaurant Group

Bluebird Restaurant Group welcomes two new executive chefs to the company.

Matt Corrente is named Executive Chef at Bluebird Tavern in downtown Burlington. A Middlebury College graduate, Corrente was most recently Chef de Cuisine at Pistou in Burlington, VT. In 2011, while at Craigie on Main in Boston, MA, Corrente worked as part of the team supporting James Beard Award Winner Chef Tony Maws.

VTBC announces new hires

Amos Higbee started with The Vermont Teddy Bear Company in February of 2011 during the company’s busy Valentine’s Day season. Amos worked in the shipping department and moved to Fulfillment for the Christmas season of 2012. After a few more seasons in 2013, Amos was made core in June as a General Maintenance Worker. This position will perform general manual labor tasks including painting, loading, unloading, recycling cardboard, lifting, and moving materials.

Grand opening of Alderman’s Kia in Rutland takes place

The ribbon is cut by Phil Alderman and the staff at the Grand Opening of Alderman’s Kia located at 4300 Middle Rd in Rutland (across from Alderman’s Chevrolet). The Chamber Ribbon Cutting Celebration was held during their day long Open House held on June 7, 2013. Mr. Alderman’s remarks noted the Alderman Family’s commitment to the Rutland Community by using local businesses from planning to completion of the building and the ability to add jobs at their new location.
