ARC Mechanical is happy to announce the addition of two new employees, the return of a previous employee, as well as the promotion of one employee.

Central Vermont Medical Center employees and volunteers donated 188 turkeys to the Vermont Food Bank. They also donated turkeys to 33 families that have been adopted for holiday giving by individual employees, departments, and physician practices, through the State of Vermont Agency of Human Services/Department of Children and Families. The Norwich University Office of Communications welcomes Lindsay Cahill Lord to its staff as the new special projects coordinator in charge of the annual William E. Colby Military Writers Symposium as well as other duties.

Lord, of Montpelier, came on staff beginning on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, from the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, where since May 2011 she worked in publications, marketing and education programs. Lord served most recently as the Chamber’s marketing and education coordinator.

Seven Days, Vermont’s free, independent weekly newspaper, won eight awards at the Vermont Press Association ceremony last Thursday in Montpelier.

The awards are an annual competition among the daily and nondaily newspapers in the state of Vermont.

Norwich University computer science and computer security students have completed a first draft of The Rook’s Guide to C++, a book that aspires to become a textbook for entry level programming students.

The Bank of Bennington contributed a combined total of $25,000 to eighteen local food and fuel funds in Bennington, Arlington, Manchester, Hoosick, and Cambridge communities in December 2013.
