Engineering Ventures project manager attains P.E. status

Engineering Ventures is pleased to congratulate Bill Nourse, P.E., for recently earning his license of Professional Engineer from the State of Vermont.

Vermont specifically licenses engineers by branch or discipline, and in recent years adopted the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveyors’ new Structural Engineers Exam format. The 16 hour exam tests candidates for competency, methodology, assumptions and judgment.

Vermont Tech VAST student receives prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship

Vermont Tech has announced that 2014 Vermont Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) student Indra Acharya has received the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship. The second Vermonter ever to receive this distinction, Acharya will attend Georgetown University this fall on a full ride, where he plans to study law and politics. VAST is an independent, accredited high school program that allows high school seniors to take a full year of college-level classes at Vermont Tech while completing their high school degree.

Two Vermont Law students recognized for clinical work with CLEA, ACC Awards

Two recent Vermont Law School graduates have received awards in recognition of their outstanding work at the South Royalton Legal Clinic, VLS’s poverty law clinic that provides pro bono representation to indigent clients in a wide range of civil cases.

Zach Chen ’14 has received the Law Student Ethics Award from the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) New England Chapter, and Nicholas Low ’14 has received the Outstanding Student Award from the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA).

Latchis Arts and Latchis Corporation announce new executive director

Lisa Bloch, President of Latchis Arts, and Rick Hashagen, President of Latchis Corporation, are happy to announce that Jon Potter of Brattleboro will take over duties as Executive Director of the two organizations as of July 1.
