Kate Duffy will be joining the Vermont Attorney General’s Office according to Attorney General Bill Sorrell. Ms. Duffy will be leaving her job as the Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Human Resources. Duffy served as an Assistant Attorney General for six years before she was appointed as Deputy Commissioner of the Department in 2009.

Jim Ouellette, CPA has joined O’Brien Brothers Agency as the Director of Accounting and Finance. Ouellette was the Controller at Vermont Law School and has extensive experience in public accounting while working at Bilodeau, Wells & Co. where he was a Manager and worked with a variety of clients performing both tax and attestation services. Jim brings his expertise in financial modeling and analysis to the O’Brien Brothers team.

The Community College of Vermont has named Heather Weinstein as the new dean of students. She succeeds Debby Stewart, who has been appointed dean of academic affairs.

Mr. Ryan was formerly Chairman of the Board and CEO of TD Banknorth. The Company also announced that Lawrence A. Bossidy has retired from Berkshire's Board of Directors. Mr. Bossidy has served as Berkshire's Lead Independent Director since 2012, and previously served as Chairman since 2002.

Sentinel Investments announces the appointment of Tom Hirschmann as President and CEO of Sentinel Financial Services Company, responsible for the company’s distribution efforts through financial intermediary channels, including national wirehouses, regional and independent broker--‐dealers, and registered investment advisors. Mr. Hirschmann joined Sentinel on June 9th and will report to Thomas Brownell, President and CEO of Sentinel Asset Management, Inc.

Pine Computers, Inc. announced today the promotion of Michael Ferland to the position of Enterprise Engineer. In this role, Ferland will oversee and manage all aspects enterprise commercial IT services at Pine, as well as day to day operations.

Ferland has been with Pine Computers for four and a half years and had held the position of Systems Technician.

Catherine McKeen, Director of Center for Teaching and Learning at Southern Vermont College, has been selected as a Summer Scholar of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) from a nationwide applicant pool to attend one of 30 seminars and institutes supported by NEH. The Endowment is a federal agency that, each summer, supports enrichment opportunities at colleges, universities and cultural institutions, so that faculty can work in collaboration and study with experts in humanities disciplines.
