Leahy recognized for leadership in addressing global water issues

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) was recently presented with the WASH Advocate Award for his strong support for ending the global safe drinking water crisis.

In a presentation in the U.S. Capitol, Leahy was joined by Vermont advocates Carolyn Meub and Barbara Carris of Pure Water For The World. Also on hand was his wife, Marcelle Leahy, a Registered Nurse. In one of Leahy’s visits to Haiti to inspect relief efforts funded by Leahy’s panel in the aftermath of the massive 2010 earthquake, she visited a project headed by the Vermonters.

2014 recipient of the New England Excess Exchange Vermont IAIP Member of the Year Award named

The 2014 recipient of the New England Excess Exchange Vermont IAIP Member of the year award is Barb Watters. Watters joined CVAIP in 2007 as President-Elect. This leap into action is indicative of her drive to get involved, mentor, lead and succeed. She continued this momentum as CVAIP President, Vermont Council Director and Regional Conference Co-Chair.

Jacqui Antonivich joins DuBois & King

DuBois & King consulting engineers announce that Jacqui Antonivich has joined the firm as an Administrative Assistant. Ms. Antonivich brings over 20 years of experience providing bookkeeping, customer service, web design, and administrative services for architectural, interior design, textile, recreational equipment, and healthcare firms, as well as education. Ms. Antonivich lives in Perkinsville and works in the firm’s Springfield office.

H. Ellery Perkinson joins People’s United Bank

People’s United Bank has announced that Ellery Perkinson has joined the commercial team as senior relationship manager, senior vice president. Ellery will be responsible for assisting his clients with all of their commercial finance needs, including lending, treasury management, trade service products, interest rate derivatives and deposit services.

Ellery is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Business Administration. He is an active member of his community and is currently a board member for the CSB Youth Hockey Association.

Brattleboro Family Medicine welcomes new providers

BMH Physician Group announced that Amanda J. Hepler, MD and Jeff Meckling, PA-C, have joined Brattleboro Family Medicine and are accepting patients.

A graduate of Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Dr. Hepler served her family medicine residency at Latrobe Family Medicine in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Sterling College faculty member to run 275 km to build climate resilience

Pavel Cenkl, faculty in Environmental Humanities at Sterling College, is going the extra mile for climate resilience—171 extra miles.

Cenkl is planning on completing a 275 km (170.8 mile), 3-day solo run across Iceland, from the Atlantic to the Arctic, in June 2015 to highlight the role that athletes and adventurers play in building climate resistance.

Southwestern Vermont Health Care Foundation welcomes Adams to regional advisory board

Kathryn “Katie” Adams of Dorset, Vt. has joined the Northshire Regional Advisory Board for the SVHC Foundation.
