Norwich University’s Sullivan Museum & History Center presents, “Women of Norwich: Trailblazers and Torchbearers”

The Norwich University Sullivan Museum and History Center presents its latest exhibit “Women of Norwich: Trailblazers and Torchbearers,” with an opening reception to be held on Friday, Sept. 4, from3-5 p.m.

The state’s only Smithsonian Affiliate, the Sullivan Museum and History Center is free and open to the public.

Women at Norwich have been an integral part of the success of the university. While many women during the early years of the academy were “behind the scenes” their contributions were important, lasting, and helped shape the institution Norwich is today.

Vermont State Rep Kevin "Coach" Christie selected as CSG Toll Fellow

Vermont state Rep. Kevin "Coach" Christie is one of 48 state policymakers from across the country selected as a Council of State Governments' Henry Toll Fellow for the Class of 2015.

The Class of 2015 Toll Fellows represents 33 states and Puerto Rico, with 35 serving in the legislative branch, four serving in the judiciary and nine hailing from the executive. A nine-member committee of state leaders, many who are Toll Fellows themselves, reviewed a record number of applications to select the class.

Orlando Cabrera returns to Centennial Field

20 years after being a member of the 1995 McNamara Division champion Vermont Expos, former Major League shortstop Orlando Cabrera returns to historic Centennial to be honored on Saturday, August 29th as the Vermont Lake Monsters take on the Tri-City Valley Cats at 6:05 pm.

The 15-year Major League veteran, 2001 Gold Glove winner and member of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox, Cabrera will be on hand at Centennial Field to meet fans and sign autographs beginning at 5:00 pm on the main stadium concourse when the gates open.

Sutherland partner P. Bruce Wright honored with Vermont Captive Insurance Association’s industry service award

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP has announced that Partner P. Bruce Wright has been recognized with the 2015 Industry Service Award by the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA). The award was presented to Mr. Wright on August 12 during the Association’s annual conference in Burlington, Vermont.

The Industry Service Award, chosen by the VCIA Board of Directors, is given annually to recognize an individual for his or her service and contributions to the overall vitality and general welfare of the captive insurance industry.
