The Fleming Museum of Art hires new curator Andrea Rosen
Following a comprehensive national search, Andrea Rosen has joined the University of Vermont’s Fleming Museum of Art as the new Curator. Rosen will be responsible for overseeing and curating from the Museum’s collection of over 25,000 objects of art and anthropology from around the globe, as well as bringing national and international traveling exhibitions to the Fleming’s galleries. In addition to her curating duties, Rosen will help in coordinating academic outreach with the University’s faculty and student population.
Bennington resident named chair of the American Lung Association’s Vermont Leadership Board
Michael Keane of North Bennington was named the new Chair of the American Lung Association of the Northeast’s Vermont Leadership Board. The Vermont Leadership Board is charged with executing the organization’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease throughout the Green Mountain State.
Leahy welcomes Peace Corps director to Vermont
Senator Patrick Leahy will welcome Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet to Vermont for a Peace Corps recruitment event for students at UVM, Middlebury College and Saint Michael’s College. The event will also highlight UVM’s Peace Corps Prep Program, which was established to offer more targeted and skill-building opportunities to undergraduate students interested in serving in the Peace Corps or in other international development and service organizations.
Jeff Allison, former FBI special adviser for Campus Public Safety, joins the National Center for Campus Public Safety in Burlington
The National Center for Campus Public Safety (NCCPS), managed by Margolis Healy under a cooperative agreement with the US Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, has announced the addition of Jeff Allison to its team of professionals as Strategic Partnerships Coordinator. Jeff joins the NCCPS on September 1, 2015, after a 30-year career with the US Department of Justice, the most recent 11 years of which he spent as the FBI Special Adviser for Campus Public Safety.
