Burr and Burton Academy teacher honored with 2015 Victor R Swenson Humanities Educator Award

The Vermont Humanities Council has named Burr and Burton Academy teacher Sigourney “Sunny” Wright as its 2015 humanities educator of the year.

VHC honored Wright with the thirteenth Victor R. Swenson Humanities Educator Award on November 14, this morning at UVM’s Dudley H. Davis Center at VHC’s fall conference, “Why Do Stories Matter?” VHC Board Chair Major Jackson presented the award to Wright in the Grand Maple Ballroom, along with a $1,000 check.

Renewable Energy Vermont (REV) recognizes a Vermont real estate development company and two Vermonters for their outstanding contributions to the progress of a sustainable energy future at Renewable Energy 2015: “Leading the Energy REVolution”, an annual conference hosted by REV which recently took place at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Burlington. The 2015 Renewable Energy Awards are presented by VLITE as part of their continuing commitment to building an energy secure Vermont.

Vermont Tech welcomes Beth Demers as project manager of Continuing Education & Workforce Development

Vermont Tech has announced that Beth Demers has joined Vermont Tech as the new project manager of Continuing Education & Workforce Development (CEWD). Demers will be working with Vermont Tech’s CEWD corporate partners to help grow the programs and diversify the college’s offerings. Vermont Tech’s CEWD currently designs and delivers workforce education and training, including customized workshops, certificate courses, degree programs, and more.

Williston business owner recognized as ambassador by national company

Allison Bransfield Morse, founder of the Williston based Ayurvedic Center of Vermont, was recently recognized as an Ambassador to Banyan Botanicals, an Albuquerque, New Mexico based company specializing in the use of herbs that are certified organic, sustainably sourced and fairly traded. New development director at Burlington City Arts announced

Burlington City Arts has announced newly hired Development Director, Lucia Campriello. Lucia joined BCA in September, 2015 as the Development Director, a role where she is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising initiatives for the organization, including increasing participation in the organization’s membership program, increasing partnership opportunities for local businesses, managing grant writing efforts and cultivating individual donors and major gift givers.
