Johnson Lambert LLP names two new partners

Johnson Lambert LLP has announced that Adam Dubuque and Carolyn Rice have been named partners.

Adam Dubuque, CPA, CPCU, ARM, ARe provides audit, tax, and other related services to Johnson Lambert’s clients since 2003 and recently completed the AICPA’s Leadership Academy. He is based out of the Burlington, Vermont office.

Carolyn Rice, CPA has over 16 years of experience in public accounting and serves insurance and not-for-profit clients from the Burlington, Vermont office.

CVAA welcomes four new board members

Champlain Valley Agency on Aging (CVAA), a nonprofit organization that

provides services and support for seniors in northwestern Vermont, has

welcomed four board members to the organization and a new board president.

New board members include Jane Catton (Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing

Officer – Northwestern Medical Center), John Davis (CPA – Davis &

Hodgson), Jim Dowling (VP Sales and Business Development – QPID Health),

and Ruth Wallman (Independent Consultant, PR & Communications). Tom Brassard

Sanders announces winners of State of the Union essay contest

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has announced the winners of his annual State of the Union essay contest for Vermont high school students. Nearly 800 students, a record number, from 39 high schools participated in the contest this year.

A panel of five Vermont teachers served as volunteer judges and selected Meredith Holbrook, a senior at Milton High School, as the winner of the contest. In her essay, Holbrook focused on the need to address domestic economic issues, such as hunger, homelessness and strengthening Social Security in the United States.
